I'm hiding out in the office. The parents and 10 other people, mostly local media correspondents and academics and the like, are camped out in the living room with gin and tonics and mini-wieners, yammering endlessly about the latest developments on the Korean peninsula.

Some guy just came in with a huge, laminated satellite photo of that one North Korean city with all the trade and stuff going on? Kang-Nam. The whole room went "OMG SQUEE" exactly the same way I did when [info]olivia_circe sent me that LuthorCorp employees only parking sign.

My parents are the worst possible kind of geek. Their are North-East Asian Affairs Geeks. If somebody doesn't shoot me soon, I may attempt death by over-ingestion of mini-wieners.*

[info]emmihead, I have the best idea in the entire universe for that Touching Evil/Firefly fic. It's so good, I may in fact write it. It is just that staggeringly good. The idea is, anyway, the actual story may blow. But the pure idea, undiluted by embodiment, is freaking kickass. So there.

The internet will be a quiet and lonely place while all you Harry Potter nuts are off reading your books about pedophilia or whatever. And then it will likely be flooded with your precious reactions. Ah, how I cannot wait to scroll through my flist at hyperspeed, not understanding what the big freakin deal is that Draco blew Sirius or that Hermione is, in fact, the Dark Overlord Volderdarth. Or whatever. I'm all a-quiver.

For those enlightened few who care, a damn good China Miéville interview. Avoid it if you haven't yet read Iron Council, as he pretty much goes over the entire plot and reasons for stuff and character points and that book is SO GOOD WHY HAVEN'T YOU READ IT YET. Jeez. Pick up the pace, people. You know who you are. *squinty eyes of disapproval*

=====

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to play Oregon Trail for an hour.

*Disclaimer: I adore my family and am constantly in awe of their passion for, as I say, saving the world. They're sometimes boring, but always inspirational, as are their friends. However, I'm still going to eat all their snacks.

I totally have to second you on the HP. But potential TE/FF? Dude, I'm all a-quiver.

Seriously, yo! A-quiver!

Am now drunk and considering writing a story about a mighty dragon that captures all HP characters and eats their heads. Just the heads. Like gummi bears. GIVE ME BACK MY F-LIST, DAMN YOU.

And DUDE. Simon? Totally in said story in the best, most mindfucking way. Oooh yeah. I fear my own story. That means it's probably a pretty good idea.

Oh, now that sounds like HP fic I could get behind! Dragons are always awesome.

Simon + mindfucking = TrixA-Quiver X 1000! Do it! Do it to save us all from the HP!

Wheeee! My other non-lover of Harry Potter! *dances*

Any mini-weiners left for me? :)

And Oregon Trail? *thud*

Now I know what I'll be doing the rest of the day...

The damned hooligans ate all my mini-weiners! You and I are left with the pitted olives and some pretzles. Oh, the agony.

I will non-love Harry Potter until the day I die. There should be a support group for non-lovers. It should be catered.

And Oregon! Trail! I didn't know I missed it until I could play it again. I'm terrible at it. I stop to hunt for food every few minutes.

I'm so crushed because I tried that link and all that came up was the red box of death. So sad. And I really, really wanted to play too! :(

And a big fat YUCK to olives. Those are allll yours!

No! It's working for me. You may need to install the ActiveX controller before it'll work. Worry not, intrepid traveller! You shall yet persevere!

And, actually, I was hoping you would eat the olives. I only like them in spread form.

Awww crap. Install things? Ugh. Don't know how and can't be bothered. I'm so old school. :)

Duuuuude. *fills out membership card* I don't know what the big deal is, and I love to read. Also... any club that has catered food is a club for me.

Thank you for the Oregon Trail link. I did a search for it a few months back that came back with nothing. I, too, will be playing all day.

I like to name my trail-mates ridiculous things, so that when it tells you stuff about them, it's amusing. Like "Sally Martha Jane, Eater of Babies and Master of All She Sees has died of exhaustion."

*high five* to my fellow un-fan! I wish we could have had our own ANTI Midnight party. I look forward to reading my request. I have more comments about Hamlet in response to your comments on my lj, btw.

Dude, at our party, we could steal some kids' HP stuffed animals or whatever and burn them like effigies, screaming "FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION."

<3.

girl, i am SO with you when it comes to HP. i feel like all of my flist has gone off and is how furiously devouring hbp and i'm all like, "i stopped half way through the last books, guys, sorry, she lost me." and i feel like i can't post anything of relevance for the next few days, just because. :P

so we must rally together, m'dear, we must! i wish i knew what touching evil was, but i'm sure i can figure out something shiny that can distract you....

My plan is to post all my most brilliant thoughts in the next few days. You know, the truly world-changing thoughts that might save humanity from its downward spiral into oblivion. The point being that I'm not really sure they're all that brilliant, but nobody's going to read them now anyway and when the time comes for brilliant, world-saving thoughts, I can at least say "Well, should've listened when you had the chance, shouldn't you?"

And you are one of many who must be educated on the ways of TE. Perhaps I shall make a crack_van style introductory post, for the betterment of the internetizens. Until then: see the pretty people in the icon? They were on the show. Mmm.
